    Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice on whether or not I can use the N11 to get from South Dublin to Kilmuckridge. Seen a couple of posts saying that sections of the N11 are classed as motorway so is it worthwhile getting on and off?

The other route I've looked up is going through Blessinton toward Baltinglass, I suppose you could literally call it the scenic route but I'd rather get there relatively quickly :D

    Any help much appreciated.

You could just cycle down by Greystones and that. M11 is as far as Bray and around Gorey, if I recall correctly.

You have to come off at Loughlinstown and can come back on south of Bray as far as Ashford where it M way again. Not sure how long it is after Ashford but another stretch around Arklow / Gorey

Last time did it, I went Ballyboden, Kilmac, Laragh, Rathdrum, Aughrim, Tinahely, Bunclody, Enniscorthy, direction, but I was more out for the scenic spin than trying to get anywhere in a hurry.

All the motorway sections are shown and are up to date.

I recommend staying on the R761 past Greystones as far as Rathnew (through "Glenroe" and Newcastle) rather than trying to rejoin the dual carriageway. After which, you could travel on the N11 as far as Arklow although I opted for the coast road when I did that cycle as I felt it was safer.

Cheers for the replies guys, might just try the R761 and the R750 rather than getting on and off the motorway. Anyone gone that way before?

Yeah I did it before. Fast cycling most of the way apart from some poor surfacing on the R750 north of Brittas Bay when I did it. Some nice undulation south of Brittas Bay to add a bit of fun to the cycle. Only went as far as Riverchapel so can't comment on the Riverchapel to Kilmuckridge section.

Coast road from Greystones on is nice, apart from having to go through Arklow.

    Arklow is grim.

To follow on from daragh_, from Gorey (you can avoid most of the town) head towards Ballycanew - Ballyedmond - Castlebridge and Wexford. Just over 140k from South Dublin, no great hills.

He's heading to Kilmuckridge rather than Wexford Town though from my reading.
