Was up around the Roundwood area on a spin this morning, and would like to warn everyone intending on going up that direction over the weekend, especially with the volume of car traffic, that will obviously be up there with the fine weather. On the main Roundwood to Annamoe road, and some of the back roads heading towards Newtown/Ashford, there are a LOT of HEAVY loose chippings on the road, we suffered a puncture in our group, and I was hit in the hip from a kicked up stone by a car, didnt notice the bruising until I got home, but it did sting a bit at the time.

god forbid they actually fix a road properly rather than simply chuck stuff into the holes.

That must be very recently done, was grand the last time I was down that way

It's not even for the holes, just seems to be strewn all over the road

Was there last Saturday and didn't see anything..
If they're as big as you make out I'd be more worried about one getting thrown up by a passing car than a puncture.

Good to know, been meaning to explore some of the back roads around trooperstown hill and the east side of the vartry reservoirs, this weekend is the time to do it.

Do you not remember the 80's? This is how roads used to be fixed. Its been so long since I've seen a "loose chippings" sign, I might get all sentimental and well up.

Noone wants planning permission anymore so County Councillors will be back to fielding calls about potholes.

Roads were melting in Laragh and Roundwood today, sounded like driving through water this afternoon, very weird, Roundwood town road is a mess. The Annamoe - Roundwood road is treated like this every year, it'll be like this for a couple of weeks, going by previous years, until it beds down.
