    Documentary then?

What a rubbish piece of writing. Taking a few throw away comments from an actor and trying to turn it into a something it clearly isn't.

The Evening Herald? Bad writing? Never!

I'd go a step further than saying it's badly written and suggest that it is actually made up. You'll notice he doesn't actually say Ireland or Dublin in any of the quotes. The main quote is taken from a PA article in which they discuss Amsterdam as a potential location for the third film, not Ireland.

The Herald only quotes Cooper as saying "Yes, definitely, yes" in response to a supposed question about it being set in Ireland. The writer mostly likely pulled this quote and resulting headline out of their arse. It's vague enough that if they ever get drawn on it (which they won't) they can just say it was a misquote. Journalists do this all the time.

The Herald just took the PA article about Amsterdam and re-wrote it so it would appeal to Irish readers. Typical tabloid crap.

Its hard to imagine Stu, Phil and Alan going down O Connell Street.

The 3 of them getting chased around Stephens Green, being on the luas,

Playing Hurling (well they would be something to do with a hurley in the movie).

Passing out on the Ha'penny Bridge.

There a better citys out there for part 3 to be shot in, Amsterdam, London, Rome, Prague, Tokoyo, Sydney etc

This is not happening. It's in the Herald. First Clue there.
London, maybe. Dublin, No. Not ever. Get over it. It's not happening.

Are there any decent newspapers left in the country.
All i read about now is trivial crap like this with assorted bull****e.

    Hangover Dublin:

    drinking in Templebar
vomit all over the streets and pass out
get stabbed and robbed by junkies
bleed to death on the street while pissheads point and laugh

    doesn't sound great tbh

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

It reads like someone grabbed him on the Red Carpet and asked him a leading question that he was too polite to totally rubbish. A new kind of fail for The Herald.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,867 ✭✭✭UglyBolloxFace

This is why I despise the Herald...

    From their article:
It's Hangover 3 ... and it's set to be shot on the streets of Dublin
we can reveal today that The Hangover 3 looks set to take place in Dublin
But he said that he that he didn't want anyone to "get ahead" of themselves

...nice and contradictory, and just to sell papers. Absolutely despicable 'journalism'.

The idea of The hangover 3 being set in Dublin is hilarious to me !
Leprechauns would probably have to feature some where in the movie :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

Dublin doesnt carry the same individual charm as bangkok or Las Vegas. They are cities that carry reputations all to themselves.

While Dublin may be known very much by Irish people for its 'Pale' like charms, outside of Ireland its as much of an extension and representation of Ireland as any other part of the country.

If they were to do a Hangover in Ireland they wont localize it to dublin, it'll be 'The Hangover: Ireland'

Like others have said there are other cities that in american pop culture carry individual charm that do not extend to the rest of their country (London, Amsterdam) that will be more suitable for the franchise. If I was toe bet on a european city it would be Amsterdam as its the only one that carries a dirty reputation in the american media. Dublin is not exactly known for its sex, drugs and crime. Just for drinking. Amsterdam is the city where sex and drugs are legal. Its the no brainer decision if they want to wash rinse and repeat the formula.

Course they could say f*ck the formula and just do a europe wide bender.

but we saw that already with eurotrip

I do love the manner in which the Herald can fabricate news, but then again would the Hangover 3 being set in Dublin really be considered news?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,662 ✭✭✭RMD

If they do it properly this could be hilarious. Start a night out on the piss in Templebar and they somehow wake up in Moneygall or somewhere random :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,097 ✭✭✭kiffer

... Maybe, that's the idea, "lads lets go somewhere not too crazy, sure what could happen in Dublin..."

one wakes up on Bull Island cuffed to a German sex tourist called Hans Gruber, in the a heavily modified boy racer's car... Turns out the car belongs to a prominant IRA member and the rest of them are in a B&B in Bray...

    Amsterdam according to Rotton Tomatoes...

WARNER BROS. SURPRISES NO ONE AND STARTS WORK ON THE HANGOVER PART III
This past Memorial Day weekend, The Hangover Part II broke all sorts of box office weekends with $205 million worldwide in just five days, including the biggest opening ever for a comedy. So, it should surprise no one that Warner Bros has hired one of that film's screenwriters to start work on The Hangover Part III, which is being seen as the final film in what will end up being a trilogy. Craig Mazin didn't work on the original movie, but his other credits include Superhero Movie (which he has sole credit on) and cowriting duties on Senseless, Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4. There's no firm confirmation on where the "Wolf Pack" will head next, but the popular consensus among the cast appears to be Amsterdam, which sort of completes a "party city" trifecta that began with Las Vegas and Bangkok. Craig Mazin also revealed this week his idea for how The Hangover Part III might end (though he might have been joking): "I think the third movie ends with Doug staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard. It's everyone ? his wife, his family is dead, everybody from the first movie is dead. Somebody shows up and tells him his dog is dead." The "Doug" that Mazin refers to is the character played by Justin Bartha who is mostly absent from the crazy events of the first two movies. The next step for Warner Bros will be to secure stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis (who are believed to have only been signed for one sequel), as well as director Todd Phillips

It's not a new kind of fail for the herald. It's the normal kind of fail that their business is based on. I dont even open their site, it just increases their visitor stats for attracting advertisers. The sooner those sh!tmerchants go under the better.

Actually sounds like Cooper only heard the "Would you consider Hangover 3?" part of the question based on the responce of "Yes, definitely yes" and "But we'll see how the second one goes"

    Excellent word twisting.

The unofficial plot synopsis says that is true. It's probably the catalyst at the start of the film so not really a plot spoiler.

Looks like I complete bag of me hole.

I chuckled once at the singing and the giraffe thing raised a smile in a black kind of way.

When people say about a film: "all the funny bits were in the trailer", then this film is fcuked if that's the case.

Thanks for doing us the favour of telling us you watched it, but asking us to go look at some other site to find the details of why you didn't like it.

Oh, wait, no, it's irritating when people do that.

I saw this on Saturday night and it was pretty much what you'd expect at this point. It's certainly better than the second film, in that it tries to vary the formula somewhat. Nothing amazing, mind you, and not something I'm likely to go out of my way to watch again, but a reasonable friday-night film nonetheless.

It's not looking great according to BoxOfficeMojo - the opening weekend for Hangover 3 was comparable to that for The Hangover, but the production budget for H3 was almost 3 times as much as the original.

Having seen it, I'm a bit confused as to where they spent that much money - I suppose the scale of eg
the prison riot with Chow, the highway pile-up and the Chow parachute scenes
is greater than that of previous films and probably drove costs up a bit.

I think it'll struggle to do much more than cover its production costs; it's decent enough but hardly spectacular. Hard to imagine it doing better business than the first one, really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,988 ✭✭✭constitutionus

went to see this today and havent seen any of the others.

    was ok.

no great laughs but not a carcrash either. TBH i only really went because i wanted to go to the cinema and there was nothing else out that i havent already seen that intrersted me.

having a hard time giving it a rating so will give it a 5/10 which makes it a "meh" in my book.

maybe fans will like it more.
