    Hi,
My original Ps3 got the ylod, I had data and game saves etc backed up on external drive.
I got a new machine (refurb!).
I did the system restore and it worked fine but the problem is, I can't use any of my game saves. I keep getting messages saying that I don't own the data and it belongs to another user etc.
And these saves are the non-copy protected ones.
Is this right, are we really not able to transfer our saves after our Ps3's die??
I thought that's what the System Restore option was there for!!

No, haven't been able to sign back in and change my password yet.

    Could that help?

Thats most likely the problem. My fat PS3 broke so I got a slim and it wouldnt let me use the saved data when PSN was down but when it came back I was able to use it no problem. The game can recognise the user so when you get your PSN up and running again you will be able to play again

Hopefully you're right. The site is still down for maintenance! I'll report back whenever I get to sign in again!
