K im just wondering could i be entitled to this . I have 2 part time jobs one is only 4 hours a night bouncing. My usual hours would be sat 5 hours plus 4 at night in club, sunday 5 hours, mon and tuesday 5 hours. Off then wed thur fri . I am also renting at 70 a week so am struggling with money . I come out with about 250 a week on average . I think the girl in social welfare said there could be a prob with me having the 2 jobs . If so i would be better off quitting the one night a week job which i only get 40 for anyway

You need to clarify your situation ... e.g. how many days a week do you work??
Hours do not come into it unless you are working 3 twelve hour shifts.

Ill just give you a example of this week . Saturday 1 to 7 in day time then 11to 3 at night. Sunday worked 1 to 6, Monday worked 1 to 7, tuesday 1 to 7. Then i was off Wednesday thursday and friday. So in total i worked 22 hours not including sunday as i think that does not count. So my income was about 270. I pay rent of 70 a week too but that is only going to be for 3 months during the summer

Okay.... just in from work so need to get my head around this. So you worked 4 days including Sunday. For JSB and JSA Sunday is not counted so if your work pattern is normally like this you can apply for JSB or JSA whichever you are entitled to. If your work pattern is normally like this e.g. over the last few months you may not be entitled to JSB as you would have no substantial loss of employment but you could apply for JSA which is means tested.

Thanks for the reply . So you dont think that me having that second job for 4 hours a week would make a difference?? I was on casual before but that was when i didnt have the second job

If you still are only working 3 days per week it shouldnt. Best advice I can give you is go to your local SW office and apply. At the end of the day you have nothing to lose and may gain.

Ya i have went last week and got a appointment for the 23rd of june . It was just the women i was dealing with was hinting that the 2 jobs could be a prob. Thanks for your advice it was much appreciated

Did you make a claim last week... cos if you have to wait till 23rd june to make claim that is a long way off and you could possibly be losing weeks of money? If the appt on 23rd to see a social welfare inspector?

Em its a appointment to see someone i have to bring in forms from my employers stating my hours and pay etc . My casual had just been closed so i think they could be just reopening the claim im not one hundred per cent sure . Id hope that i would get the money back dated. Surely they would have made a note of the date that i came in

Ok... sounds like it might carry on from date it was closed. Still a very long time to wait whereabouts in the country are you.... you dont need to specify town just county or city.
