GAME is sitting on Zelda RIGHT NOW

According to two Independent reports in local UK Game stores - conducted by myself - GAME actually has copies of Zelda 3DS in stock and ready to be sold. This is despite the game not being available for sale to the general public until June 17

So, why if the game is in stock in the store and simply waiting to be put on shelf (and even at that the full box is already being displayed in most GAME stores) has that not happened yet? Why another 2+ weeks wait?

I saw a link to an unboxing on utub last night, not of the game but of the pre-order bonus.
Not really interested so I didn't click.
    Can't find it now.

So...is it released early in Game in general or is it just a few fluke for a couple of lucky people?

It's not released early, from what I know though, it is in a lot of my local GAME stores and it was delivered about a week ago. So GAME have pretty much all their pre orders and first day orders ready to be sold, in limited edition boxes and with posters etc, and are just waiting for June 17th

This is apparently something to do with the fact that Zelda was a launch title, but was delayed slightly, so has been officially ready for months. IGN got their hands on a copy weeks ago and some guy has been reviewing it over there and detailing little things since he first saw it.

I'd say there are a handful of people in the UK right now with a copy of the game, and if you're in the right circles, I'd say you could already get one.

Of course Zelda has all this promotional stuff attached to it in places like HMV and GAME, and Resident Evil is out two weeks after that, so maybe they wanted to separate the deliveries of those games a little behind the scenes. Zelda arrives massively early so RE can come in a little earlier too?

Would GAME be the best place to place a pre-order, in terms of exclusive goodies?

Nintendo have the release date set and I would imagine if game broke it they would be in trouble :p

haha, reminds me of something that happened:

I had pre-ordered GTA IV in Xtravision in Glenageary, it wasn't due out for a week but someone rang Xtravision portraying the district manager and told them that they are allowed to release it that night.

picked it up and got a phonecall the next day asking for it back lool - no

In the UK, I only know of two pre order bonus offers, so I don't know if this the same in Ireland but...

HMV are offering the game alongside a limited edition Zelda £5 HMV Giftcard (it looks quite stylish but you can't use the card at the same time as purchasing the game)

GAME are offering Zelda in a Limited Edition "Gold" packaging and this comes with a duel sided poster. GAME also seem to have dropped their retail price (on their site at least) from £35 to £30 for the price of the game

I was kinda hoping the free gift would be three-dimensional... :pac:

I got the GAME pre-order box and poster, they're nice...but I'd prefer the Ocarina that Germany is getting!

Australia are getting the best release - it comes with a real Ocarina with notes on how to play each song. I want!

Excuse me, that's the one I meant! Dunno why I was thinking Germany...maybe I confused them since those two countries always get screwed by censorship (well, Germany used to)!

It doesnt make sense (to me anyway) that the ocarina deal is online-only, wouldn't they have to pay extra on postage? How much do they charge for shipping actually?

Game are offering a special edition gold case and poster for pre orders according to their website.
I heard something about HMV offering 5 Euro voucher (can't be used against the game itself) for pre-order.
I wonder which will be the cheapest.

Do you guys think Nintendo will re release Majora's Mask on 3DS?

In the UK anyway, if GAME go ahead with the £30 launch day price, then they would be the cheapest

Official Nintendo magazine recently gave this game a score of 98%, the highest score I think it's ever given any game in the publications history. Mercenaries got a rather good 85% too

Do you guys think Nintendo will re release Majora's Mask on 3DS?

It's not as universally popular as Ocarina of Time but if OoT generates massives sales, which it will, I think it's a distinct possibility. No doubt we'll see Mario 64 3D and F-Zero 64 3D. The latter would be amazing and it's been ages since there's been an F-Zero release.

Well Majora's Mask was based off Ocarina of Time heavily......and considering they have that already ported and the engine and all....it would only be stupid for them to not release Majoras Mask in a year or so...it'd sell a ton of copies and would be a cheap enough game.
Port of Ocarina was also outsourced.....Meaning Nintendo's own internal teams would be pretty free to work on a dedicated Zelda title for 3DS and releasing these ports in the meantime. (I would die for a sequel to Ocarina/Majoras in the same vein)

Also Ocarina of Time 3D does contain an added Majora's mask reference...so y'know :P

Would love to see a "proper" Zelda released for the system, as opposed to the Cell-shaded, Wind Waker based Zelda games released for the DS. I'm not liking what they have done with Skyward Sword so it isn't looking likely. A Majora's Mask, or even Twilight Princess sequel would be great.

I don't think we'll see a Mario 64 port seeing as it was ported to the DS. But Super Mario 3DS looks great, and with Super Smash Bros, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Mario Kart on the way, it is shaping up to be a great system.

Forgive me for not reading the whole thread, but game have only got stock of Zelda early this week. They have had collectors edition boxes for about 3 weeks now - these boxes caused some confusion as they are sealed but empty. Game will be giving them out to any customers who preordered the game.

That could be where the confusion comes from

I was handed both this morning and I figured that I had been given two copies of the game for some reason, but I just transferred the cart and manual into the limited edition cover....em, speaking of which, my local GAME sold out of all copies of this game in about an hour - with the exception of pre orders - which they figured weren't that major. In the end they had to turn people away looking for it, hopefully they get another delivery soon!
