I'm learning how to do Club Accounts. I just did the 2010 question which has an Accumulated Fund, Income and Expenditure Account, and a Receipts and Payments Account. Now I just need to do a question that has a Balance Sheet and a Bar/Shop Trading Account and I'm sorted. :)

By the way, I think this is a good idea for a thread. I certainly would feel a lot more pleased with my studying if I posted here after and it might motivate me to study more!

I was doing exactly the same! Finished now for the evening. I highlighted important points on my handouts for English paper two. I have loads! Feeling more confident for eng p2 now:) I looked over a few Irish notes too, nothing serious.

I went to the Library at ten today and stayed till 12 then came back at one and stayed till 4. I got all my English and Irish revision done and read back over my science notes and learned 4 maths theorems.

Finished for the night now but plan to go to the library again tomorrow and get stuck into Science and Geography.

    •learned 12 business acronyms
    • did a set of business short q's
    • did a long q (final accounts)
    • revised Laois-Offaly and Cromwellian Plantations
    • learned Theorem 4

I finished block classes today, so can get stuck into studying during the day from tomorrow.

Just did some Geography there. I studied earthquakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, levees, the Irish fishing industry, and contrasting population density in Brazil.

    Fairly pleased with myself. :)

Thing is, I can only study at night-time. I actually have no problem studying at this time of the night and I can do it easily. However, during the day-time, I never do anything. It was the same with my homework, I always started it at midnight.

Started today by mocking the 2003 Maths papers, did my corrections onto flashcards, glanced over these, tested myself on theorems 7 and 8. Then History, worddumped two people in histories, tested myself on a Q6D involving Mussolini, corrected this, worddumped a Reformation question. Now onto business mocked 2007 Paper Two, corrected this and now doing some Home Economics......

Just studied fold mountains there in Geography.

What do you mean by "mocked"? Is it doing a paper under test conditions, without looking up answers, etc.

Think about THE DAY OF THE EXAM

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 39 DarkEagleEye

Get to a room where you can hear nothing, get your best subject out, read what you dont understand and write out notes for yourself.
Dont get distracted by the boards(lol says me)or anything else.
Take a 5 min break every 20 mins. When you are gettin into it, take out a subject you find hard.
Its easy once you get started but I find it hard to even start. Dont think about it just do it.(Again, says me):P

Me too. I will put it off for ages, watch loads of tv online and home and away, and then by 8.30 or 9 I finally make myself start studying. But at like 10pm im actually getting into it and feeling productive and I actually WANT to keep going and get stuff done, but I have to stop by like 10.30.
Promised myself I would study today, but no its like 25degrees outside.

This weather is appalling. Absolutely appalling. I was going really well the last two days, then today I went into town and I'm only home now and I am far too hot and far too tired to study. I may read over some of my favourite parts of History later, as that never feels like studying to me, and maybe learn some nice French words. Everything else will dissipate as soon as it enters my mind, so I may as well take today off. Gah, farewell motivation.

Today I got most of the second year history revised, I done the first year part a while ago.

I'll do the third year part later.

I'm the same. I went out for the day, I'll try do some more Geography later.

I can't study tomorrow night either, or Tuesday, because Ireland are playing.

I like your thinking. I have A4 page after A4 page of words that I've written simply for entertainment purposes. About 95% of them would never feature on a Junior Cert. paper but the sheer thrill I get from learning them is quite strange.

I did English, Business (a little) and a small section of History. I might try some science now because I really have to do well in it (my mother teaches it afterall!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭Desire.

    Today I did some Geography!
    • Marine Erosion - Cliffs.
    • Marine Deposition - Sand Spit.
    • Mass Movement - Landslide.
    • Carbonation.
    • Freeze-Thaw.
    • Rocks.
    • Fold Mountains.
    • Volcanoes.

I don't know how much more time to spend on Geography now. I know I've loads to cover (too much!) but I need to spend time on English, Irish, and Maths.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,850 ✭✭✭Indiego

Today I studied To Kill a Mockingbird, The Physical Geography section of Geography, Q4,5 and 6's on maths paper 1, and The Cluastuiscint and Studied Prose and Poetry for Irish :)

It's tough to retain that much information by just reading. You'd have a better chance of remembering if you noted some key points, but everyone has their own techniques I guess.

So far today Ive done 3 Maths paper 1's and Studied Climates and Industry in Geography. :) Im planning on tackling some more Geography (I have a list of about 10 topics that im not sure, because i went through the exam papers and made a list - Procrastination...) and learning off a sample answer for Reoitoig Mharfach and practicing a cluastuiscint for Irish and doing some poetry and media studies for english XD
Long day... my family abandoned me today - they all went out for lunch and shopping and left me alone to study :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭Desire.

Well done, you're doing a lot!

I'm going to go out for the day tomorrow. I've given up on the studying.

What I did the past two days was learn ABSOLUTELY EVERY LITTLE DETAIL of Ireland politics in the 20th century and International Relations in the 20th century. At this stage I think it would be very hard not to get over 50 out of the 60 marks for question six for me. As opposedto a few days ago when I'd get 20 out of 60. If you're interested in history you'll remember it. That's how I get through it.

As for geography, I learnt all of the physical geography yesterday. I practically read the whole book in an hour aswell, picking out the important pieces. After that I looked through the test papers and I could answer nearly every question. It's only now I realise just how easy most subjects are. Ever since I started studying, which was about a week ago. :pac:
Most of geography is common sense aswell and if you did the ordanance survey question in class enough, like me, you'd only need to worry about 2 long questions.

I wonder would it count as studying if I re-watch the whole series of Band of Brothers tomorrow...
