    Hi,

Anyone have any idea where i could get one of these in Sligo :

Sprained my ankle badly, and want to ice it before i think about going to casualty for a 10hr wait.

    Thanks

Think I seen the ones in Eleveries where you give it a quick shake or wack to activate what ever is in it. Its a single use pack.

Failing that a bag of frozen veg wrapped in a tea towel.

    ;)

+1, I usually use a plastic bag instead of a tea towel. You need to be careful though, because if you leave it on too long you can get ice burns. 5 minutes max, let blood flow return and reply usually after about 5 minutes. Do this at least several times a day.

    Remember use R.I.C.E.

Rest.....avoid excess weight or mobilization with the ankle for at least 72 hours
Ice.......To reduce swelling and further inflammation.
Compression.....To provide support and protection while the ankle is weak.
Elevation..........Again this keeps the swelling down and prevents build up of toxins ect.

A lot of pharmacies stock those supports, so get someone to have a look for you.
