    We need a budget.?
Do you have windows 7 install disk and key?
Are you looking to include a 19" monitor, or already have one?
    Keyboard & Mouse needed?
Want to go with AMD Or Intel?

Going by your previous budget of €1,500:

    161404.png

+ delivery €30. That doesn't include assembly. It's not to hard but would take a while. Otherwise you can pay them €20 to do it for you. They won't do the heatsink, as that could tear off during shipping. Also note that they only take bank transfers, not credit cards.

Windows professional is cheaper than windows 7 HP...
Actually I have the German version down and the english version is out of stock. http://www2.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=29178
You can use the key from the German versions as long as you have an English install disc, but you can't change language after install. Except in ultimate. That's about €150 if you want that as listed in your previous post.

You have a bit more money to spare, you could get a blu ray drive or a PSU upgrade. The PSU is plenty for overclocking and upgrades (strangely the 650W version is cheaper than the 550W), but if you wanted to add a second graphics card, an extra little bit would be favourable.

If you want to save money, the SSD is not essential and you could save €50 by going with a P67 motherboard with one PCI-E slot.

If you are downloading a lot of files, consider a low power 2TB green drive instead of the 1TB F3, if you are getting the SSD.

Had a quick look at custompc. I hit €1.6K with 6GB RAM, an inferior case, cooling and motherboard. That's also without a €198 SSD.

Prices are 50% higher. If you don't want to build it yourself and want everything completely ready for you, someone here will do it for you. There's a list of volunteers in a thread in this forum. Even if you pay them €100, it will still be cheaper.

If you want to get bent over and taken for a 'ride' - by all means use custom PC.

If you want a much more powerful, better looking, easier to maintain, and cheaper PC - build it yourself or get someone to build it for you.

You would be mad to order from there.

Custom PC and similar places are for people that don't ask questions on internet fora.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 955 ✭✭✭Mister Man

I'm sure someone on the forums wouldn't mind throwing it together...Probably for free, saving you 20 Quid.

CustomPC looks terrible to me! Should stick to one of the sites people have used on the forum.

I don't know - what else would you like?

If you want a good internet connection to your PC, get homeplugs. These use your powerlines as a network. Don't buy them from HWV - get them from Ireland or the UK.
They're about €60-70 on amazon.co.uk by the look of it. Get the 200Mbps ones for future proofing.

If you don't want to order from HWV, scan.co.uk will take credit card orders and you can buy your homeplugs from there. Prices can be cheaper or dearer, depending on the items/day. Certainly much cheaper than your first choice.

found a good pair on ebay for €62, was just wondering would it be wise buying all the components off ebay

Don't touch ebay unless you know a lot about pc's.

Thats just a pc with the same processor (170 euros) and then the other 400 euros is made up of the cheapest parts possible - the exact same PC is still actually cheaper on the German site we use - hardwareversand.de - but we would never consider speccing something so crappy

You have two viable options.. getting the pc monotype specced (you can always revise your budget and make it cheaper)

    OR

Go to a site that actually sells actual gaming pc's, and theres only one REAL one I can think of www.overclockers.co.uk
BUT you will end up paying more

I strongly suggest the first option

Remember, you can get a decent gaming pc from hardwareversand starting about 500 euros. You start reaching optimal performance at about 800 euros.

what ìf i just got the parts for the pc off ebay, most of them are cheaper than the german site

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Getting one or two parts is fine but you will have a hard time finding everything. You could end up paying a lot for shipping. Plus there's warranties. As the first hand buyer, you generally have longer warranties.

Have a look at scan.co.uk, if you don't fancy dealing with the Germans.

Plus you'd be paying import duties if it's from outside the EU.

If you have to have it built for you, go with overclockers.co.uk.

Listen to the lads on this fora, they helped me build my first pc, I subsequently helped my friend build his always using this forum as a resource to ask questions first.
If I were you I would build it with my own two hands, nothing more satisfying that making something yourself and using it, be it a pc, furniture etc

Agreed! Personally I love putting everything together, and turning it on for the first time! It also saves a few yoyos instead of getting someone else to put it together. Well worth putting it together yourself. If you, or someone else has a problem later on, then you can open it up and try to see for yourself what's wrong, instead of getting someone to repair it for you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 689 ✭✭✭stylie

The motherboard, nice and shiny and full of bits
Or the Case and put some bricks in it, heavy means cool and hardcore

Its better to order everything in one go. You will end up spending more on shipping :)

didnt think of that one but i can only get the money in dribbs and drabs and i cant gett all that in paypal at one time anyway

How would you have gotten the one from custom PC?

Save your money and get a hold of someone with an appropriate credit limit. Half a computer is only good for looking at cool boxes and seeing depreciation in action. You would have it all built in a day, software installed and to your liking in another, so you're not saving yourself any trouble.

You're as well off saving the few euros here and there & buying the whole thing in one go. For me, shipping just breaks my balls! 30Quid of hardware wasted IMO, but buying it bit by bit, you're wasting serious amounts of money!

Definitely, just buy all the parts from the one site. But I'd please urrge you to use Irish, or Iriah version of a site :)

memoryc.com are Irish memory e-tailers, and they also sell PSU's and HDD's. Great prices, and free delivery too :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Yeah, memoryc are very good and will make up for scan's lack of options in that area and offer competitive prices.

Dabs and elara are very good sites for buying compounents i recently bought from both for my 1,300 gaming pc but if ur not building the digi store is your best bet. For a good mouse & keyboard I would recomend razer.

    Dabs http://www.dabs.ie

    Elara http://www.elara.ie

    TheDigiStore http://thedigistore.ie

    Razer http://razerzone.com
