Is anybody else hooked on checking their online bank account ?
for some reason I check 4-5 times a day , I always have alot of transactions in and out but I think maybe I'm subconsciously hoping to get a surprise windfall or something.

Im worried I will pop up in the bank database as a wierdo for always logging in!

Anyone else or tumbleweeds all around ?

I just checked it before coming here. I do it quite regularly. Although I'd do it a lot more if you didn't have to jump through loops to login!

I check mine on a regular basis, just in case I get someone's lotto winnings lodged by mistake.

Na, once your balance constantly has a - symbol next to it, it kills you a little inside. :(

Are you physcologically or physically addicted?

    Worse than heroin I've heard.

    Good luck with the treatment.

Is there some kind of methadone come down ? Online library account or something ?

It's that bad I've even memorised all of the numbers, codes and words to log in, want me to prove it ;-)

If my bank gave me thanks I'd never leave the website, and would have to keep a steady supply of replacement F5 keys beside me!

Yeah, I'm the same. That whole: 'Enter the 3rd, 1st and 4th number stuff wrecks my head. I'd rather just enter the whole thing, be a hell of a lot easier.

Only things I check 4-5 times a day is my e-mail (From my phone most of the time) after that it would be Facebook, but I try to stay clear of anything money related, theres never a good surprise to be had with it =/

I find McWilliams in the Indo less depressing.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

Check my balance four times a day? What? Christ, when I take money from the ATM I do it with a hand over my eyes so I can't see the screen...

i used to check mine quite regularly but seeing your credit gradually go down down down and down and then further down again is soul destroying.after a month of having to spend a lot i always say right next month ill save a tone but it never happens.
check mine maybe once every week or so now

No worries about looking like a wierdo on here, home sweet home for the rest of us.

We're all mad. The more they deny, the more insane they usually are :p

I also do it several times a day OP. It's kind of part of my getting online ritual. I never really understood why I was doing it but in the last while I've been watching the pennies a bit. I've noticed some questionable ins/outs on the credit card which were subscriptions I hadn't cancelled, bank charges, paypal stuff. It's nice if there's a problem and you can sort it with a phone call and maybe get money back or save money by cancelling something. Also you might notice inflation/rate changes in bills that would lead you to re-negotiate your deals with your service providers.

So I think checking your online banking a lot does have its uses but you're probably a lot less likely to do it if you actually have plenty of dosh and nothing to worry about

When I'm paid at the end of the month I check it and move some money around, then I don't check it again until about a week or so before being paid again to make sure I have enough money to last me till pay day.
