Its separate races as far as I know, and overall is counting points to declare overall winner.

Usually Batterstown is HQ for 3-days, and each race either does Mullagh, Doreys Forge or the Green Sheeds(not in any particular order)

Oh and usually A4 separate, then depends on numbers who turn up to breakdown the other groups

As has been pointed out elsewhere, if you're in the Orwell/UCD/IRC/St. Tiernans/Stagg league you could race the Christy Mc in Roundwood on the 11th, Meath GP in Navan on the 12th, Leinster 3-day on Mon,Tuesday Wed, Club league race on the Thursday, The Crit champs are on in Mullingar on the Friday, then the Paddy Flanagan 2-day in Kildare on the Sat & Sunday. 9 days racing in a row. Nine. In a row.

anyone know what the story is tonight in Mondello for A4's - are they getting a few minutes handicap over the A3's / a2's / a1's etc?

any chance there'll be a "nearly A4" category for Vets ?:D

Yeah we're handicaping you, your riding on flat tyres !! haha

Cant see any other kinda race working on that circuit the Lap is too short, the races would come together

It was a handicap the last time we were out there. Something like 2-3 mins between each group. Only came together with a lap & a half to go. Last year, I think only a few of the A3s got across to the A4s before the finish.

Last night was like a rollercoaster getting dizzy on all those corners

Last nights file for me: http://app.strava.com/rides/727682#

We caught the front on the last lap - really hard to get up to the front for the sprint. Great to see so many out...

High average speeds last night for such a course.

It was a bit strange going the wrong way round. Faster that way, but i prefer the other way round. Hard in A2, didn't help that a few guys took a wrong turn on the 4th or 5th lap, we had to ease off to let them back on, then work hard to make up lost time. South Dublin worked it really well. They had 3-4 guys in A2, the winner sat in whenever he could, while his clubmates worked really hard. We were trying to keep the pace high on the last lap to get our sprinters up, but we probably needed one more pair of legs for the last few bends. John Priest got up for 5th though, so good result in the end. Anyone heading out to Drogheda this evening?

Ryan, how much of a gap was there between A1 & A2 at the start do you know?

I think it was 2:30 to A2. It was 5 minutes to the A4s.

We worked pretty efficiently (some folks sat in, one dude in particular I never actually saw all race until the final lap!) - we knew we had to in order to catch the front of the race. Making the catch on the final lap always meant it would be a sprint - I would have loved to have tried a flyer but just couldn't get up quickly enough.

I was in A4's last night and was getting on grand-ish for the first 4 or so laps until A3's caught us, after that I was decidedly un-grand, got spat out after about 2 laps with the A3's, then took a few little err, breaks here and there, and I'd say I did another 2 laps with a few bunches, then called it a day after about 45/50mins, I was wrecked. Extreme interval training.

Can't make tonight, and does anyone know if Wednesday's race at the Green sheds will have A4's separate?

I was in the A4's too - was surprisingly comfortable after the A3's caught us, but when the 1's & 2's finally caught us it was a different story - they rode past us like we were standing still. I see from Ryan's file, their average speed was around 3.5km/h faster than the A4's!
All 3 races are handicapped AFAIK, so no separate race on the Green Sheds on Wednesday I'm afraid.

It was handicapped in Kilsharvan tonight too. 4 laps of the circuit they used in the Coombes Connor Memorial. A1s caught us about 3/4 way around 2nd lap. Then there were a few attacks & a breakaway formed with about 10 riders in it. 4 of us almost bridged across on the 3rd lap, but then we hit a headwind & nobody could ride through anymore, and they just disappeared off into the distance. Didn't stop lads popping off the front from there to the end. You'd get 2/3/4 guys off the front for a while, then the rest of the A1/2 bunch would come back up, then someone else would have a go, etc. Hard racing. Avg. speed was 43.5kph. The break caught the A3/4s before the end, didn't hear who won it though. Yellow jersey from last night was with us crossing the line, so probably didn't pick up points.

What is the batterstown course like for tonight? I'm thinking I may head along to it.

Really enjoyed tonights race again, A3s done a good job holding back the A1 and A2 group, think they where about to make the catch so it was tight, quite a few boardies doing the pulling but a lot where just along for the ride

Tough race tonight, harder course than last night , what is the story with the wind for the last month? No real respite from it. Can safely say I did my fair share ( before we got caught anyways). Was fairly nervy in parts, some real kamikazes out tonight.

Well done to Ciaran McKenna on his superb win!:D
