Sorry, may I ask you are you

    - applying through the CAO to study Computer science in starting this September, and hoping to get in with your Leaving Cert points ?
    - Have you sat your Leaving Cert before, repeating it this year or sitting it for the first time this year, or are you applying as a mature student?

Okay, well if you would prefer to go to UCD, and Computer Science (CS) is what you would really like to do, then you can use the 'change of mind' facility and put CS there as your first choice ahead of CS in DIT, in fact you have until 1st July to chop and change your choices on your CAO form, as long as they are not 'restricted entry' courses (courses like Art etc where you have to submit a portfolio which Computer Science wouldn't fit into this category).

AFAIK, the points for UCD are higher than DIT, but points rise and fall every year, and you must put down your choices in order of preference, NOT in the order of what points you think you will get.

Some students apply to get permission to transfer from a course in one college to the same course in another, that is if they sit their exams successfully and if there are places available for them, so there is no guarantee and that's awkward, but if you're having doubts about a particular course at this stage, I reiterate ---put your CAO course choices in order of preference !!!

    Best of luck :)

There are no facilities whatsoever in UCD Computer Science Building save for tables chairs and sockets to plug you laptop into. No high end software as computers don't exist. You will install only free software on your laptop. The nearest shop to computer science building is in the main science building which is about the size a bathroom so prepare to feel like a sardine when you visit that.
