This is an open invite to anyone of you cinephiles out there that might be interested in contributing to a film podcast.

The idea behind the podcast is in depth discussions of assorted cinema topics, taking the time to create lengthy episodes with high production value that pull a subject apart and really explore its contents.

Examples of possible episodes could include the entire creative output of one film maker, Retrospective episodes that completely dissect a film or a series of films providing the listener with everything they could ever want to know about that particular film series or film maker. It’d be like a one stop shop for all your geek needs. ;-)

I’d kind of like to keep it more cult, sci-fi, horror, world and exploitation cinema related to start with and expand from there.

The idea would be to create an archive of shows that could hold up to any college lecture in regards to content, knowledge, insightfulness and most of all entertainment value.

I’ve being playing around with some possible formats, like for example if the show was focusing on one particular movie it would open with a quick plot synopsis and go into a more in-depth lecture style proving the listener with some background information with everything from the concept, production etc onwards providing all relevant information.
This would be intercut with a discussion about the movie that would be less lectury and more informal.
The production would be of a high standard, using condenser microphones through a mixing board and edited in garage band or cubase.

Each episode would also include a welt of sound bites and audio clips + use parts of the movies soundtrack to provide bed music. (Pending Legality) All creating an entertaining experience.

While there is a lot of film related podcasts out there I personally believe there is a gap in the market for such a show.
Considering most are current movie review shows, this is offering something different.

If anyone is interested, has a love bordering on obsession for all things cinema and feels like they’d be up for the laugh drop me a PM and I can fill you in more.

I figure maybe three contributors would be enough.

+ For an idea of the kind of show/style I’m after, check out ‘Now Playing’ & ‘The Hollywood Saloon’ podcasts.

I'd be interested in contibuting reviewing esoteric horror films (aka straight-to-dvd shítfests) when my college duties finish up in late August :) I wouldn't be on for doing current stuff (i personally prefer home over Cinema), rather stuff that's been out and under the radar. I could give you an example of my work over the next week if that's something!
