lost iphone 4, need guidance

    Hi, looking for bit of info, i lost my iphone las week (in mitchelstown in case anyone found it) ,i was on the o2 network, so i rang them thursday morning, they said they would lock out the sim and phone, what i'm needing to know is, is it really 100% locked and absolutely no good to anyone else, i have signs up and advertised it so am i wasting my time hoping to ever see it again. thanks for reading this

    Chances of getting it back will be low but you do hear of some cases that phone was returned as it wasn't pin lock as they could access contacts. O2 block's the IMEI that should prevent the phone been used in all or most prociders in Ireland (Not sure if Tesco, AnPost etc also block IMEI's number) but if sold abroad it will work as lock is only for Ireland.

    Thanks Nava, i'm holding out very little hope of its return, but i would feel a little better if i thought it wasn't any good to the person who has it.
