Not to mess with your head but you did ask.... kinda:P

Have you looked at beone, its got a few more 105 bits, lighter and (only my opinion) she looks a bit nicer too, same price range in crc land.

Or Planet X SL Pro for less money with DA7900.....instead of 105/FSA mix.
You'd want to be stone mad to touch that BeOne with the value of the PX.

Someone will be along shortly about Canyon.

OP, what are you riding at the moment?

Getting mighty cheesed off now waiting on my PX off the outfit in Athlone. Coming up on a month now. Probably a victim of its own popularity. Whatever you're buying, check stock levels and get a firm delivery date.

Does anyone else get annoyed by PX quoting Dura Ace when it's only the shifters and mechs - it's usually a FSA gossamer chainset and PX brakes.

It's still unbelievable value but borders on mis-selling/mis-advertising?

What framesize did you go for Olafhero - all the mediums seem to be held back until mid-June

Good point, but, that CRC Beone has FSA cranks and calipers also!
    (I don't even like Planet-X btw!)

They do it for everything. The Rival & Force come with an Apex chainset, the Ultegra with a 105 cassette and FSA chainset. Etc

Trek 1.5 at the moment. Want to stay local to Waterford so LBSs, no-one has mentioned Ridley yet
As for Planet X it is still an option but like I said, lbs so specialized, cube, scott or trek are preferences. Have looked at ktm but heard bad stuff about frame process.

Spokes have a wider range than that. Dolan & Kuoto spring to mind, pop into them for a chat...

In there loads wacker - did you see the ever so slightly second hand Kuoto? Someone bought it before I had even thought up a good case to put too the wife. Lovely Kharma though. La Pierre definately no interest but the agree gtc in the window calls to me!

No, not this time Kayak, I have the Iain Hatton spin on from town to fungarvan and then back in the coast. About 110km I think. Theres a lot going on this weekend, shame the weather forcast isn't like they said a few days ago. Enjoy the Carrick sportif

If you have done all your research and you love your choice, then go for it. It is a great bike anyway. Everyone has their preferences - just follow your heart. It will be right for you! Enjoy the ride!

Get whatever has the best paintjob

Its now down to the Scott CR1 Comp, Cube Agree GTC Pro and Focus Cayo 2.0 Ultegra (thanks Lumen for pointing out that I can use c2w with Wiggle). Time to organise some test rides I think. Still keep looking at the Cube Agree Pro (aluminium) as an option - do many people have full Ultegra Alu bikes as an all year rounder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,995 ✭✭✭✭blorg

There isn't a massive difference between the groups once you are 10 speed. I'd take 105 on most carbon frames over Ultegra on most aluminium any day. At that price range I would not be considering aluminium.

Sorry, just saw this now. (Appropriate given the PX delays!) Yes, medium was prescribed for me by Herr Doktor Planet-X. Result: no bike. Should've just saved a bit more and waited for those annual Canyon deals they do during the Tour de France...

Nice one blorg - the alu frame thought was based upon coming off rather than groupset, but think if I bought it I would spend the next few years wishing id bought a carbon. By the way Blorg, spent Sunday morning reading your blog, great stuff. Wish I could live off hotdogs!
