Audio (?) Problem

    Hello guys,

First of all I have very little knowledge of computers and how they work, but about 2 months ago I purchased a Dell Inspiron N5030, and since the beginning have had a problem, but I don't even fully know how to describe it.

Basically what happens is the audio keeps skipping or jumping, as if it were a scratched CD for example. I have been researching this problem pretty much all day today and yesterday, which included an hour long phone call to Dell today, looking up problems with Dell, with Windows 7 or even to do with the soundcard which is a Realtek High Definition Audio, but have not been able to find a solution. Dell suggested sending it away and getting it fixed which could take 7-10 working days, but numerous others online have said that sending it away did not change the problem. I really would rather not have to send it away if possible.

I'm not sure if this is definitely connected, but it's possible that the CPU shoots up for a split second when this happens, which could be the cause, but I don't know what would cause this to happen.

I've updated the drivers, uninstalled the sound card and re-installed it, I've tried changing power plans, disconnecting from the internet, disabling all enhancements on the sound.. But nothing has had any effect!

Could anyone please help if possible or even recommend other sites to post this message on where people may be able to help? Anything at all is greatly appreciated.
