Hi Everyone, its been a few months since I've posted here but just wanted to let everyone know that we currently have 257 players fully paid up and registered for the IPO.

We are aiming for 2,000 players so at this point in time we are on target. We need the help and support of every poker player out there to make this Europe's largest poker tournament.

For the benefit of anyone that doesn't know our track record the IPO has been Europe's largest poker tournament (in terms of the number of participants) since 2007.

You can register today on Boylepoker.com (through the client).... Please note you cannot pay with cash on the day to enter this tournament, all players must register through Boylepoker.com (we always sell out well in advance too so please register today).

Please tell every poker player you know about this tournament. Its a €225 entry with a €400,000 prize-pool estimated.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

Bumpage for this one, hope everyone can make it... Please don't forget to register early as we always sell out ahead of time.

All players must register and pay their buy-in through Boylepoker.com.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

We are well and truly on our way to selling out the IPO again this year.

Don't forget we are aiming for 2,000 players so any help in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment we have over 420 players fully paid, the rush will start now as we are one month from the start date.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

    Hi Folks,

Because we are just one month away from the IPO 2011 we want to put on a little promotion.

We are going to give away the cost of entry to the IPO to one player.

Every player that registers in the Boylepoker.com lobby before midnight on Saturday 1st October will be entered into a draw to receive €225 cash, into their Boylepoker account.

If you have already registered or qualified in an online satellite don't worry, you will be included in this draw too.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

My boylesports is a minus thanks to them missettling a bet so I take it i can't enter this without making up the deficit. which is ridiculous

    Hi Nick,

Your best bet is to contact Ciaran_Corbett on irishpokerboards.com , I don't work for Boylepoker myself, I work for pokerireland.ie

I would much prefer to be able to show up on day 1a and if its not sold out pay cash. Is there any chance of this policy changing if its not a sellout?

    Hi Stephen,
Can you choose which Day1 you play in? Am thinking of entering but wont be able to play on the Friday if I do. Is there a way to make sure you are in Day 1b?
    Cheers

It's my understanding that you can pick what day to start on when you register, but some offical confirmation might be helpful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 155 ✭✭PaulD77

Thats good. I won the entrance cost last week in a pub game so may as well, nothing to lose!

    Hi Paul,

You can indeed choose which start day you want to play. Day 1B traditionally sold out first, but with the increased capacity this year you should be fine to register in the next few days.

When you go into the Boylepoker lobby you will see one tournament listed for Day 1A and another for Day 1B, whichever you choose to register for is up to yourself.

Start time on each day is 12pm, so all players need to be in their seats at 11:45am.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

    Hey Stephen,

At the beginning of this thread you said that the estimated prize pool would be 400k and that you guys were on track to hit the 2k player mark.

On the IPO website the estimated prize pool is 250k.

Now from what I can tell, about 24 hours before registration closes, there are 693 players registered which total a prize pool of about 140k.

Do you guys expect alot of last minute registrations or was the 400k and even the 250k prize pool expectations way off?

On a side note, I will probably still play the Tournament as I really enjoyed it the last two years but to be honest it is a bit disappointing to see such a "small" prize pool.

Thanks for your god job with the tournament otherwise.

    Hi Badonkadonks,

There are over 210 French and Dutch players registered directly through me (and not through the Boylepoker lobby due to legalities about their jurisdiction)....We did everything we could to hit the capacity of 2,000 players this year but at the moment its looking more like 1,150 to 1,200 players (which is pretty close to Boylepoker's estimated prize-pool and a similar field to last year).

If we do get a big last minute surge we might well get a bigger prize-pool than the €250k.

There are 183 players registered for tonight's online Super satellite (on Boylepoker), late reg up to 9pm tonight - €20 + €2.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

is it ok to pay on the day ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 231 ✭✭NickMondo

I don't get paid till midnight, is that to late to register?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 Badonkadonks

    Thanks for your reply Stephen.

I have one more question if that is ok.

In your initial post it says that online registration closes today (wednesday oct 19th at 6pm) but in the client it says that registration closes on thursday oct 20th at 10:00.

Hopefully the client is correct and it will be possible to register until tomorrow morning as I am still waiting for a withdrawal from another site.

Thanks again for helping out with all the questions :)

    I seen this elsewhere.

If you want to play Day 1A (Friday 21st Oct) then reg closes at 10am on Thursday 20th Oct.

If you want to play Day 1B (Saturday 22nd Oct) then reg closes at 10am on Friday 21st Oct.

You must register online through the poker client, there will be no cash payments/ registrations accepted on the day.
