As a long time Moto GP fan I'm very lucky getting to go to this race next week. Mrs Gears is also going and is a fan but would also like to do something other than live track side for the weekend so has anyone who has been there before got suggestions of what we could do when not at the track, places to go, resturants etc. Any suggestions would be great and we will have our own 4 wheel transport so could travel a bit. Thanks

You could do a tour of the roundabouts in Milton Keynes.

    Sounds like fun :D

TBH outside MK there seems SFA to do in Bedfordshire. There are some nice resturants down in the theatre district in MK and quit a large shopping centre.

With the prices of accomodation we're actually staying more towards Rugby than Milton Keynes but will take the advise and check out MK

How about Woburn Abbey - you can see how the other half (more like half a per cent) lived and the safari park if you want. Rugby's not that pretty from what I recall. Which way are you heading over? If from Holyhead, you could try a trip around Oxford, a bit off track bu not that much.

The plan is to fly in to Birmingham and drive from there so fingers are crossed with Aer Lingus

If you're flying in to Birmingham, try heading around Kettering/Milbrook, there's (If I remember correctly) an Aviation museum there which is worth checking out, and you can always take the hire car out on the Milbrook Proving Ground :D
