I gather that the blu ray drive is working then? showing up in the bios like?
you tried the disk in your old pc to make sure that it's not the problem?

If you have a spare 4gig flash drive kicking about you could always install windows from there, saves you having to mess about installing another the dvd drive.

Are we sure it's not a Blu-ray-only drive? That it CAN in fact read DVDs?

I thought blu ray was backwards compatible with dvd/cd?

the bootable cd is a single iso file on the cd, is this right???

You need to burn that .iso file to the disk, use something like ImgBurn to do this.

yea i did, theres just the iso file on it now, my blue ray drive still doesnt pick it up tho.

Let's try this again. When you pop the CD into a working computer - your laptop, say - what do you see on the disk, when you explore/open it?

What program did you use to make the disc? As Venom suggested, ImgBurn is probably the best option.

If you have a large enough USB drive hanging around, you could also try this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx

One thing before that though, make sure the BIOS/UEFI is configured to boot from the blu-ray drive.
    EDIT: Disregard, re-read posts above.
