I was talking to a lady in FAS yesterday. She said that you carry out a placement with a company for a couple of months, and as well as receiving your social welfare payment, the company gives you an additional €50 per week.

She said that they hadn't been given any more information about it yet, such as when it starts or anything.

Is it not the government who pays the €50? otherwise it'd be the same as the wpp

From what I've read you can't pay ppl on the wpp who are in receipt of benefits. I would love to be able to hire someone that I could trial inexpensively and the internship program sounds perfect.

Your only allowed hire unexerienced graduates on this program ..... too many companies have abused the wpp already!

Dose anyone else find it a bit odd that you were asked to simply email your contact details to register your interest and be put on the data base. Considering the number of emails they may get, the use of a form that you could fill out would be far more efficient.
