Volkswagen Golf Alarm System

    Hi guys

    hope ye can help me out.. I have 2003 VW Golf. It has
    central locking on it. Im trying to determine does it
    have an alarm system How can I tell? Obviously without throwing a rock through the window

    If it has a factory alarm, there will be two little sensors where the interior lights above the rear windows are, light in the middle and little sensors each end.

    Leave a mobile phone inside it, set lock the car, then after 3 minutes ring the phone, if the alarm goes off it has one, if not it doesn't.

    Lock the car as usual with your remote central locking. Open the car with your key, if your car has an alarm, it will go off.

    (At least that was the way an alarm installer demonstrated to me that my installed alarm worked - on a 01 Golf a couple of years ago.)
