Used ebay.ie for the first time approx 7 weeks ago to sell a few bits. i sold a jacket and skirt to a person in ireland. i posted them off to the winner in good faith and unfortunately she has not paid me. the items with postage came to 22 euro. its just annoying. i feel foolish as well for sending off the items but i figured if someone went to the bother of bidding, they would have no problem paying. I opened up one of those case things on ebay but that has lapsed and still no payment. Do I just take it as a bad experience? It has put me off using ebay again.

I would just write it off as a bad experience. You made a mistake and 22 euro is not a huge amount of money.

Google their details, such as their email address, their phone number, etc. See if you can find.... other... means of contact?

I did this once as well with a €4 music CD .

Luckily he did pay me a few days later .

Online selling is a learning experience , and you will have many highs and lows .

You will learn from mistakes and some can be costly too.

    Eh, that's how scams work.

Why? Just wait for payment before sending anything off. It's obvious really.

Always wait for payment before posting any item. You might be able to access the buyers details through email (althought if I am not sure if it is too late) maybe a phonecall might spur them into action.

You can gain access to their phone number through ebay though they'll also be provided with yours. Not sure if it's possible if the listings ended.

That was crazily naive to send before you received payment, though it shouldn't deter you from trying again.

Steer clear of selling anything of high value 'til you're more accustomed with the process.

In my Ebay experience as a buyer I've got few sellers who did send the items before I paid. I did pay for the items right away in these cases but obviously not everyone will. Just before sending anything make sure you always get the payment and confirm the address that comes with the actual payment.
