Military motorcade at Portlaoise toll plaza

    Just past Portlaoise on my way to Limerick about an hour ago and there was a serious military presence with about 15 UN peace keeping vehicles :confused: stopped at the toll plaza. All the lads were out standing on the roofs of the vehicles... It gave me quite a start, I tells ya!!! Thought for a second I was in Tripoli :eek:

    Just wondering does anyone else know of a coup that is about to kick off???? Think I missed the memo :rolleyes:

    Arn't we redeploying to The Lebanon soon. Maybe they're on their way to Dublin airport or just doing an exercise.

    Were the APC's painted white with UN on the side?

    If so then they'd be the ones getting deployed and were probably just gearing up for the deployment.

    We're heading back out to Lebanon.

    An Italian peace keeper was killed there on Friday, and four seriously wounded - so needless to say we should all wish our troops a safe and peaceful mission.
