Split Advice

Hey guys, I'd like your opinions on something...

I do a 4 day split which is as follows:

    Mon : Back
    Tue : Chest/Shoulders
    Thurs : Legs
    Fri : Biceps/Triceps

Each workout consists of 6-8 exercises, a mixture of compound and isolation. I was wondering would it be more beneficial to work out each muscles group twice a week instead of just the once? Combining them into heavy and light days?

I was thinking about giving something like this a go...

Mon : Chest/Shoulders/Legs (heavy weights with fewer reps)
Tue : Biceps/Triceps/Back (lighter weights with more reps)

Thur : Chest/Shoulders/Legs (lighter weights with more reps)
Fri : Biceps/Triceps/Back (heavy weights with fewer reps)

I've been working out 3-4 days a week for a year with good gains. Starting to plateau lately and so am thinking about shaking things up a bit:pac:

    Thanks for your help!
