Call Amazon, they'll most likely send you a new one.

a guy i work with broke his screen after 2 weeks and he called them and they replaced it within a week before he'd even sent them back the old one.

that said, there were no external marks of damage on it and he didn't tell them it broke when it accidentally flew out of his bag. :)

A family friend dropped their kindle down the stairs by accident, rang amazon to find out how much repair would cost and told them honestly that the damage was her fault.. amazon still replaced the whole unit FOC.

    Wow, just wow.

As it was bought and registered in the USA by my Mam and given to my Son as a gift, I had to ring Amazon.com earlier on Skype to sort it out. They were fine, no questions asked, I now have a tracking number of a new one on the way to me..........But this is the best bit, I have 45 days to ship the old one back to the USA and the email says "I have applied a $30 gift card to your account to compensate your return shipping cost".

What a fantastic crowd to deal with.

I love amazon, they are the best company I have ever had to deal with... I bought an expensive headset from them some time back it broke once and they replaced it no questions asked... 13months later the new one broke in the exact same place! They then gave me a FULL refund on the product... I couldnt have asked for better service... anywhere else and they wouldve just rolled their eyes at you and said bye bye!

    Hey Guys,

Just picked the kindle up from under the pillow and the screen is goosed.

Is there a number to call? How do I get in touch with the kind folk at Amazon? I bought it at Argos though?

I've heard Amazon are quite good at replacing screens under these circumstances, no harm firing them off an email :)
