Is there such thing as a website where you can give your feedback on differant dealers around the country? I think that would be very interesting if there was such a thing.

    Thanks

    not aware of any....

while it sounds like a nice idea...
with out liability laws it would be a nightmare to mod and keep it straight....

You wouldn't even worry about the one lawsuit. It would be the hundreds of them.

I don't see why it would be any different to any of the other ratemyxxxx sites TBH.

They would probably try just in the hope you wouldn't have the money to go to court against them.

I think there should be one setup so people can get feedback before they buy from a particular dealer. Would save people alot of hassle I'd say buying from the crooks in the industry.

I'd say it would be like the way they have it here. No name-mentioning unless you have proof/back up and rightly so.

If there was a way to do it properly, I'm sure there'd be a sticky in this forum already ;)

The other ratemyxxxx sites are generally hosted outside of this country and would not care about our libel laws. A site specifically for Irish car dealers would most likely have to have a Irish registrar or contact for the domain and would have to register as a business here or within the EU for advertising revenue. Otherwise it would be nothing but a huge cash drain.

And then the lawsuits start. And as boards.ie and other sites have found, its the site that can be targeted not the person who posts on it.

If http://www.rate-your-solicitor.com/, a site which rates those other upstanding members of Irish society, solicitors, can be done... then http://www.rate-your-dealer.com/ can be done.
