Grand Seiko stockists in Dublin/nearby

Looking to treat myself to one of these exceptional watches - does anyone know of any authorised dealers ?

I have priced with Seiya-san and Higuchi and it seems to me that presuming I get hit for VAT there is not much of a saving, at least perhaps not enough to put me off buying from a dealer with worldwide warranty versus the JDM warranty that I get going the other route.

I believe that your main European options are Jura Watches in London and the Grand Seiko boutique in Paris. I've also heard that there may be an Amsterdam shop.

Thanks lads - in fact at those prices the JDM import price is attractive, even with VAT added.

(that and I've bought in from seiya before and not got hit...now that would make it exceptional value)

I was at Jura just when they were starting to stock GS watches, but unfortuately none had actually arrived in the store when I got there. The sales guy offered to show me what they would have on a big screen that basically showed their website. He saw the prices listed beside the watches (cheapest quartz one was over 2k sterling I think) and was a bit dumbfounded. Cue an amusing conversation with his colleage as to whether the website was SNAFUed with these ridiculously high prices.

Once he had been reassured that the prices were correct, he carried on trying to sell one to me at the price he previously thought was ridiculously high without missing a beat.:)

The Seiko boutique in Paris is on Bonaparte, very close to Notre Dame etc. in the centre. It's a nice shop - they have a display of the divers that you never see in European shops, a nice case of Grand Seikos, a display of Credors, Spring Drives, and even the Space-type Spring Drive watch that was retailing for nearly 30k. Tres cool.

If you're in Paris, you also have to visit Rue St. Honoré, close to the Louvre. Boutiques for loads of top manufatures like Audemars Piguet, plus independent shops where you browse Richard Mille-level watches for 160k a pop.

Rue Bonaparte is also very close to the Boulevard San Michel which is a very nice area, and I recommend that if you are in Paris you visit it just for fun - for a laugh.
