If you can download it the p90x plan is great. I use the stretching and the yoga segements and they are one the main reasons I am enjoying one of my longest spells without being forced to stop training (1 niggle in 6 months that forced me to cut back the mileage for a week but was back to normal then)

Dunno if the plan is worth buying if you are just looking for yoga (its a total fitness plan with 12 workout DVDs) but if you can download it (through torrent I have seen a few downloads of it) I would say definitely get it

I would also recommend a yoga class. A good teacher will make sure you're doing the exercises properly - you might think you are, but might not be doing so! I do an ashtanga class each week and I think you get far more from that than you would from a dvd...

If you're in Dublin, there's a 4-week Yoga For Runners class starting on Wednesday evening in the Dublin Holistic Centre in South William Street.

Thanks guys, plenty food for thought there! Will keep an eye out for some yoga classes in the coming months, does sound like a good idea taking part in some classes first maybe. Thanks Rainbow Kirby, but unfortunately im not in Dublin:( !

I wonder would Ryan Giggs' yoga video be any use for running - it certainly seems to have kept him going well past his prime!

Any of Rodney Yees stuff is great:

I've been using the 'Power Yoga - Total Body' DVD (2003) for the last two years. I used it about 3-5 times a week initially and then once a week and then eventually every fortnight and now about once a month to get a deep all over stretch.

I have some of his Yoga for Athletes but they cover a number of different sports each only lasting about 15 mins. I would recommend the PYTB one as I said.

    Your (now) flexible friend!

Well after a bit more searching on Amazon, then given that running is my main sport ive gone for Christine Felsteads 'Yoga For Runners - The Essentials'. Should have it in the next day or two so hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have a review up here.

I was looking at that Ryan Giggs one too and thinking the same thing, if its kept him going this long its gotta be good, so I wont rule out buying it yet!

And as for Rodney Yee, where do you start?!?! The 'Conditioning For Athletes' could be worth a go but I see theres only the NTSC DVD version:(

well that was a useful DVD, have never done yoga before and as a runner I found it was good, felt much better after it, still want to do some classes though, just in case im getting any tips or tricks wrong! Managed to get my hands on Christine Felsteads other DVD 'Intermediate Program', follow on from the first. Some tough poses in it but boy do they hit the spot and stretch out all the key muscle groups! As a runner, if you havent done yoga before and are looking for some DVDs, these are well worth the dosh, particularly the Intermediate Program one.
