Is there a saorview epg comming, because my sony tvs guide gives 7 day listings but only the information about the now and next program. I thought there was a saorview epg when it was testing but not sure. Anyone have any information?

No known plans for an MHEG-5 Saorview epg. Posted this recently - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=72460621

Exactly the same problem on my Sony 32EX403.

Your Sony guide is the EPG, but just doesnt display it properly. It just says "Event data is invalid" when I try to view information after now and next.
I have 7 day guide but only shows information on the now and next.
Its some fault, I asked the sony centre but the only thing they could say was that all saorview problems would sort themselves out

Same issue on my Sony. The programme data, cast list etc. IS actually present in the schedule information transmitted, but the Sony(s) don't seem to be displaying it.

Same here on 2 Sony TVs but the Lidl Silvercrest is displaying the programme info correctly.

Maybe we could ask Sony to have a look and see if a firmware mod would sort it out? Like you, I have the Freesat model, so it may not be a runner:p

    Latest firmware for the EX403 ? http://support.sony-europe.com/tvhc/downloads/downloads.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&f=FW_Bravia4099L&ch=7&m=KDL-32EX403

These EPG problems are caching issues and have been addresssed by Sony in the past in the UK. Try the firmware update - see if it improves anything. If it doesnt get onto Sony and ask them do they propose releasing an update to improve the 7 day EPG caching.

All Saorview problems will not sort themselves out. It is a Sony issue with loading basic EIT data into their own epg software. Hopefully its just software and not memory related.

Thanks for the reply, Unfortunately I have already tried all the firmware updates upon release and to of no avail. I will try contacting them with the words you used. Thanks!
It is an strange problem as Black Briar has the same sony tv as me and his epg has no problems.
There is also another Sony EX401 in my house and it displays the 7 day info no problem too.

Got a new bedroom telly - KDL22EX320 - listed as Saorview approved - has 7 day EPG but only now and next info on it - should this not be part of the spec?

It should if it's Saorview approved.

Have you a) tried a different country setting e.g UK or France (though you shouldn't have to as it's supposed to be approved) or b) looking for a recent firmware update? I'd also get onto the manufacturer/customer service to complain.

Firmware is up to date - and I've tried getting onto Sony but their email support from their site doesn't work - anyone got a useful contact number/email address?

    You'll get them on 01-4131700

Unusual as it's a Saorview certified model, let us know how you get on.

Thanks for that - I'll try it later today.

-edit- as I could have predicted - "factory settings and leave it in standby overnight" - I'll see if that works.

Tried this tv again factory reset and made sure firmware up to date.
    - Saorview certified - Sony KDL22EX320 but the Guide EPG still just gives now/next programme detail - works fine on France or Norway settings but then the new Saorview mheg5 text doesn't work or give the placeholder on RTEjr/RTE One+1.

    Bit annoyed.

Back to the shop with that imo evilivor.

Can't see how the set would have been Saorview approved if it wasn't capable of delivering 7-day EPG.

May also be worth seeking local knowledge in a Sony Centre before you do anything, as email queries to the Sony tech team may be handled in the UK, just a guess though.

I own a Sony W5500 and I cannot for the life of me get the time on the TV to match that of the EPG.

Slight update to the issue of the Sony EPG not displaying information apart from Now/Next despite being Saorview certified (Sony KDL22EX320)

I contacted Saorview about issue who referred it to Sony who came back to me directly to say that they are "taking this matter very seriously and our technical division are currently looking into it."

Independently, my dealer contacted Sony Ireland, who refused the acknowledge there was an issue until he sent on photographic evidence of the faulty EPG, has had contact saying they are also looking into the matter with a view to rectifying the matter in a firmware upgrade. I apparently am the only person who has complained.
