You realise that for the first few months such benefits are paid by the country in which the last paid their social insurance?

Irish people have been screwing the social welfare system since long before any 'foreigners' got a peice of the pie!

The problem is not in the 'who' but in the 'why' & 'how'.

The system is flawed, glaringly so, the country has been haemorrhaging money via the welfare system (and other area's) for a long long time.

We were drunk on our own success during the Celtic Tiger years and partied like it was never going to end and here now the parties over the lights are on and we're nursing the mother of all hangovers! We thought we had a 'free bar' but now the bill needs paying and the 'hosts' are nowhere to be found.....they've already fooked off!

But, in all honesty joe public has to shoulder some of the blame, after all we're the ones who allowed those elected to govern to act how they did and go unchallenged.

The rape & pillage of the welfare system is only one page in this dire horror story.

    MOD POST...
The "wrong forum" comment after the OP edit suggests to me that the OP wishes us to close this thread. In any case, after edit, the OP fails to meet our minimum standards on Irish Economy. Locked.
