    Hi guys,

new to this road cycling lark (got a giant rapid 2 about 3 weeks ago and the bug has definitely bitten!). Can anyone recommend a bike club around rathmines that would welcome beginners? Also, I have bar ends instead of drops on my bike and I've heard that some groups don't allow this, is this true? Cheers

I think ThinkBike do beginner spins in that neck of the woods, and yes some groups wouldn't accept bar ends on safety grounds

Thinkbike were certainly doing beginner spins earlier the year, both road and MTB. I did a few of them, really nice easy going crew, well worth getting in touch with. My guess is that the beginner crew is now an intermediate crew. PM Bikerbhoy who posts here for more info, he usually organises the road spins. They've no problem with flat bar bikes, that's what I ride.
