    Have no background in science etc but just have a question regarding entrohy?

    A closed system i.e the universe, is going from an organised state to a disorganised state, well that's how I'm understanding it. But surely after the big bang the universe went from a disorganised state to an orgaised state (from high entrohy to low). But shouldn't this be against the way entrophy works?.

    Please forgive the simplicity of the question.

    There's nothing wrong with simple questions.

    Anyway, to answer your question: Evidence suggests the early universe had very low entropy, and that entropy has been increasing since the big bang.
