    http://www.myhome.ie/residential/brochure/busherstown-house-moneygall-co-offaly/1248452

    Heres the deal:

    2800 ordinary shares @ 250euro each = 700k

It's listed for 695k, was 1.3m not long ago, includes a tennis court and would probably go for less. Drum up more investors....

I was thinking a kind of retreat/festival/youth hostel/campsite kind of thing. It would be great for boardsies, you could organise weekends on the nights out, organise busses from Dublin.

    Will you invest??? 34 votes

ah its only 10 acres, might have to leave out the festival part. Would be good money to rent it to couples getting married though!

How much for the extraordinary shares - the ones that let us hunt & shoot the ordinary folks?

We won't all be there at once, you can come and go as you please. It'll be a spot where we can kick it, where we can drink liquor and no one bickers over trick sh1t.

It'll also be a place where we can draw up plans for a new political party, it will be Irelands first right wing political party.

Afaik you can't just buy a property with loads of people like that. Tried it years ago and the legal paperwork fell through. No shares either because it's a private residential property not a company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

What happens when the rowdy type start bringing their equally rowdy train and somebody ends up getting mad.

Not even remotely true, your solicitor must have been a bit thick.
Set up company, company issues shares, people buy shares and give money to company, company purchases the property pays the stamp legals etc.
    Its actually quite simple.
Only issue is choosing the directors and the board!!!

    Oh and I'm out too!!!:p

I'm in, but imagine having to get 2799 keys cut. And that's just for the front door.

Also, who's name is going on the ESB bill?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 515 ✭✭✭martic

Will the 200 euro property tax for owning a second home be split between the 2800 people as in 0.07 each or will it just be the people that own a house already have to pay it. These are the answers I need before I commit to the deal.

not a slightest chance that i would invest a single cent along with hundreds of other people.

2800 owners would argue and debate on every single occasion, it simply wouldn't work and probably end with at least one murder.

Fantastic, then we can have a thrilling whodunnit murder mystery on our hands. Was it the farmer with a shovel or the banker with a briefcase?
I'm lilking this idea more and more

I think for an extra few hundred there should be a national express that can transport people to and from the castle throughout the country

We also need a moat and a drawbridge to complete the castle look, these are issues that can be agreed on unaminously later on though.

Exactly, an ever evolving one as well " Now with twice the murder and double the gore"

Guess who's coming to the dinner would be another possiblity,
or more likely guess who's cooking

We'll need cleaners to pick up all the empty beer bottles and stubbed out joints, so theres a job going there if you want it.

You could start a thread each time there's a disagreement and stick a poll on it. Communal dwelling democracy AH style.

I was thinking we would elect a committee, a president and then advisors. Theres bound to be lots of unemployed graduates on boards, legal, business etc.

We would have part of the committee organising events, legal team, business team, marketing and accounts, all democratically elected by investors.

Events would have to be booked with a limited number of people invited paying say 10euro per head. So if you had 100 people attending on 1 day, you would have 1000euro to pay the bills etc.

sounds like a plan...is there a drawbridge? If there is you could simply get there first, drop the drawbridge and laugh at all the suckers!!!
