Just wondering does anyone know of plans for any Irish stations to show Breaking Bad.

Its a brilliant show and everyone who watches i gets hooked.

    Can't wait for Season 4.

Surely it cant cost that much to get the rights to a 2008 TV show.

Check RTE about one o'clock in the morning during the week.
It's like a time they'd put it on.

It didn't get brilliant ratings by any means in the UK on Channel 5, so the Irish Stations probably decided it wasn't worth acquiring.

I think it's expensive to import but doesn't garner great ratings, so the channels can't justify the expense.

Pity that approach doesn't apply when negotiating pat kenny and Ryan tubrity salaries...

See Pat Kenny and Tubrity bring in the ratings, so that's how they justify their salaries.

The subject matter would turn off a lot of advertisers as the shows "heroes" are two drug dealers peddling a particularly potent, highly addictive drug.

Is this the same Tubridy whose figures are sinking 2fm's early morning schedule?

I've never understood why such a great show does so badly in the european market. This topic has made me decide that I shall start rewatching it today. :D

Funnily enough I downloaded the first season today and know hardly anything about it.

Season 4 starts next month. It's been such a long wait, it's going to be like Christmas, except in the summer.

Breaking Bad would suit TG4's late time slot, with True Blood and The Wire. RTE did acquire AMC's Rubicon and The Walking Dead recently, so it could happen.

Its an amazing show, it has me hooked. I watched all 3 seasons over the past two weeks and I cannot wait for the 4th season.

Its definately up there with The Wire and The Sopranos imo.

Season 3 has been released apparently but it's not on sale on Play.com and Amazon only have it on sale as "used." Antone have any recommendations on where to get it?

Don't think it is out in Region 2 yet. The used ones on Amazon are Region 4.
It was only released in the states a few weeks ago, so it might be while yet before it's released here.
