    Hey guys,

I was hoping to get some advice on how to approach some painting emblems and writing on 2 project aegs (2 of so so many :(:o)

Lets start off with the easiest one...i think

The first is an M4 type reciever body...

Its black and plain with no engraving or white printed trades.

I want to put a custom emblem on it, something different. The design of it is fine to make a positive template of.
My question is would it be better to prep the surface, prime it , paint it and matt clear it OR would i be better off to use enamel paint which some would argue is harder paint but prone to chipping.?

What would a durable way of approaching it..?

Second project is a plastic g36 ish body and i want to put on quotes on the aeg, quite small font around the fire selector.
I was wonder would i be better off etching in by hand (font is 5 mm high) which will break my hand and paitence  or somehow paint it in.

I want to do a neat and durable job on it and i would love if somebody gave me a few helpful suggestions on how to approach it.

Here's a link of what i'm on about and it will be ordinary style writing.

    Thanks in advance.

    DP :D

Have you tried searching online for font stencils? If you could get them it should be easy enough to spray on paint. There are stencils here, but I think that they are too big for what you need them for. Or there are 6mm ones here.

Don't know anything about paints I'm afraid, sorry. Hopefully those stencils might help.

i would stencil on to the gun with pencil and then hand paint with HUMMERALL PAINTS, i think thats what thier called they come in a tiny pot, u can get them in easons, they are used generally for airfix models etc.... then cover in a thin coat of lacker to keep them from fading.
