    Hi guys,
    Bought a dublin to cork ticket on the site with my mastercard there about an hour ago. the ticket is for 1am tomorow but i just found out im getting a lift. How do i go about getting a refund? the openning hours are monday to friday for customer service, so wat do i do? cant find any answer on the site. Do i wait till monday wen the tickets expired?? it cost me €40!! i want that back!

    Irish rail tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable i'm afraid

    You should be able to get a partial refund. Outside of office hours an email should suffice, usually takes a few days for it to be come through. It happened me once and there wasn't any hassle sorting it out.

    • Cancelled up to day before travel - 80% refund on the ticket price.
    • Cancelled on day of travel - 50% refund on the ticket price.
    • All cancellations must be made before time of travel to be considered eligible for refund.
    • Tickets must be submitted to the address shown above before a refund can be processed
    • No refund on transaction and credit card fees

    Non-transferable means you cant use the ticket for a different route, it doesnt mean the person that bought it has to use it!

    Ah theres nobody to sell it to..im tepted to skip the lift and get the train to get my moneys worth..but now im scared ill arrive at heuston and my ticket will have cancelled cause i emailed them! aaaaaaaaagh feck it ill just look at this experience as a god dam feckin learning experience..i love them *rolls eyes* anybody here wanna go to cork tomrow!?? :D

    My reading of that is that you will get 80% of the ticket price back. The piece in bold suggests to me that is there is no refund on credit card fees associated with the purchase of the ticket (but you will get 80% of the fare back).

    That was the case when I made a cancellation. If memory serves they didn't actually email me back, I knew it was refunded for sure when I looked at my bank statement.
