PS3 recommendations

    Hey,

I recently bought a PS3 (first console) and am now addicted to the two Portal games.

I am looking for other games to play but not having much luck. I know there isnt really anything else out there like portal but are there similar type games that you would recommend.

As I am new to gaming, I am not very good. Therefore games that require you to move or shoot a target fast I find frustrating cause I just keep getting killed!

I tried half life as it came with portal but alas it is above my skill level.

So any recommendations for games that will ease me into the gaming world.

I know ye probably get sick of 'game recommendation' questions but I am obsessed with portal and you can only replay a game so long. I really need more games!!!!!

    Thanks!

I'd have to recommend Batman: Arkham Asylum because it's a great experience as well as offering numerous difficulty levels.

Gran Turismo 5 Definitely has to be in your collection! I know racing gaming may not be your thing but you get hooked so easily plus there is HUGE variey of gaming experience in it as well as the amazing and dreded endurance races...2 24 hour races!!

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Fantastic game, easy enough to get through but cracking great fun.

I'd recommend Little Big Planet 2 man, you should give it a go. ;)

The Ratchet and Clank games are deadly. Great fun and handy enough. I recommend you try them out. The first one (Tools of Destruction) is probably available for a pittance at this stage.

Never heard of Portal but see it gets great reviews. Must check it out.

i'll echo above about ratchet and clank. have them all for ps2 and ps3, so addictive. trying to get all the skill points is a bit of craic, especially with a few friendrg with you. everyone taking turns. i used to get my friends son over(13) and he'd know how to get them straight away. you have to think like a child for a few of them. when i'm fed up with cod, i'll stick it up for a few hours.

As much as I love GT5 it's one to try before you buy. Takes a while to get used to and I know plenty of folks who hate it. For a more casual arcade style racer I'd recommend Burnout Paradise.

GTA IV is definitely worth a look, lets you do pretty much anything you want.

Ne 1 got La Noire yet?

Heard it was a bit like like heavy rain and too much of a movie with not enough playability?

Also looking for a new game to get, haven't played much since Uncharted 2(highly recommended) A.C Brotherhood and pro evo so a long time.

Never really got into the FPS games so I'm a bit limited in what to go for.

Yeah, I just bought it there last week.. Its ok I guess.. I'm only about half way through it but the challenges and gameplay are starting to get a bit repetitive.

I've played Heavy Rain too and think it's a slightly better game because your input to the game can change the outcome of the story where as in LA Noire it's pretty linear and no matter what your input to the game is the outcome will eventually always be the same..

Yeah or Lego Indiana Jones. Great craic on 2 player. Handy enough with some decent puzzles. Slightly repetitive after a while.
