Dole payment, confused

Please forgive me as I have no idea.

I have received the official letter today, thats all typed telling me what my weekly rate is and that i will be paid from the 17 may 2011. First payment in the post office will be due in next week.

Does this mean it will be backdated if i get this payment?

The reason why i say if i get this payment is because i received another letter, both of them on the same day.

This second letter has me all confused. Most of it is typed out with blank lines in it to be filled out. That type of letter. It was all filled out. It was telling me the my next sign on date and which post office it will be in and which date.

But it mentioned different dates. Said the first payment will be in on the 15 june 2011.

So it explain that my claim starts on monday 6th of june. First three days aren't paid for so im paid from the 9 june.

There was note at the bottom explaining that the letter from the college states the course finishes on the third of june. Which it did. But it also mentioned my last exam was on the 12 May. Who goes back for two weeks of college after their last exam?

The college letter was a general type of letter and filled in with my details. College closes on the 3rd of June, but I was finished two weeks ago.

So what is it?

You will need to contact the office to see which of the dates is correct and when you are due to pick up your first payment.

If your letter from the college stated that your exams were finished on 12th May and that you were not required at college after this time, then you should be able to be paid from that date. If they have applied a later date than this for your start date then you can ask them to review their decision in light of their own policy in this regard .

If they won't review decision, you can appeal. Pending a review or appeal, you can apply to the Community Welfare Officer for a payment of Supplementary Welfare Allowance. Any SWA paid will be deducted from your payment.

Well, i called into them yesterday. The lad there couldn't find the forms that i gave them on wednesday. He was saying they weren't sent to the correct place. So he had to find it. So he photocopied the letters and said he'll call me in the afternoon. He never did.

All college letters were printed to fill in various details of the person looking for the letter. It said that the course finishes on the 3rd of june. Thats when the college closes and thats probably when the very last course ends. But it also stated that my last exam was on the 12th of may.

This is a joke. Another trip to them on monday. :mad:

The first letter said that the money will be in the post office tomorrow. So im going to check. What do I need to collect it? Just the pps card? ID?

And if its not in it, I guess its the 15th of June. But il call in again tomorrow and see whats happening.

How do I go about appealing their decision if i dont get anything until the 15th of june.

Sometimes they do ask for ID, so bring photo ID with you too. I needed it for the first few weeks of collecting it, after that they start to recognise you....

So i went into them about the letters. And was told to get another letter from the college which said the exact same thing. They're a real shower...

That was over a week ago and I never had a reply.

So going by the second letter, would i still be entitled to pick up the dole on the 15th of june? Or would myself going in about these letters have any affect on it? Would they hold it off until there's a decision made?

And if i get it on the 15th of june.
The claim starts on the 6th of june. first three days aren't paid, so i start getting paid from the 9th. How much do i get in this first payment on the 15th? I don't think the second letter mentioned it.
Edit: I should mention that i am entitled to the full rate of €188. Sorry, but i don't know how much im getting paid. Do i get paid for the 9, 10, 11 of june on the 15th?
