want to get a loan for a car

    Credit rating good all ok only issue is the car is in the uk.
    what are the credit union like for getting a loan for a uk car.
    I know usually the do up a cheque to be paid to garage in Ireland.
    Anyone done this before?

    I got a car loan off them years back and they made the check out to me, it wasn't for a car either :pac:

    Couple of things, obviously to get a loan off them you need to be a member with a decent history, ideally having borrowed off them before and paid it all back no bother and also have a regular savings history with them. Also you'll have to have a lash of cash with them (10/20% ish of what you are borrowing at least which they freeze so you can't withdraw it).

    Paying the loan back with dd from your bank account is something they also like.

    I have been a member for years with a good repayment history.
    my main concern is as the car u am looking at is nit in Ireland. But in the UK.

    I don't think they have any interest in where the car is as afaik the loan is not secured on the vehicle. To my knowledge they will just issue you with a cheque for the amount you are borrowing.

    Best thing to do is give them a ring and ask. They are generally very helpful with these type of questions.
