    Hi

I was gonna get the carrea TDF bike in Halfords but after a visit to my local bike shop i've changed my mind

Now looking at a road bike for 800ish
He was trying to sell me the
    Felt z100
Also stocks a Giant and Kellys for similiar price

I'm new to raod bikes (apart from my raleigh winner i had going to school)
    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

are you getting it on the bike to work scheme?

If not I saw this on gumtree http://www.gumtree.ie/p/for-sale/brand-new-road-bike/80576174. Pretty decent bike and has a 1 year warranty. nice spec for that price

This Merlin would some in at about €775 (with the current exchange rate) after you freely sign up to their site's VIP membership. I don't know what it's like but the components on it are very good for the price. If you'd be willing to stretch you budget slightly further to €899 + P&P you could go for this Canyon. For opinions on it use the search function for this forum and it'll throw up plenty of them.

I have the Z100 also, surprisingly comfy as it's my first road bike and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Happy with my purchase after looking at all the other usual suspects such as Specialized, Giant, Trek etc.

The only other one I seriously considered was Canyon but I wanted to go to someone I trusted because it's my first road bike and I trusted the shop to set me up properly.
