    im thinking of increasing sucklers numbers so less silage ground available would straw and rolled barley be ok an its own im in the west straw costing e18-20 a bale any info welcome

    straws scarce this year, might cost abit.. WW heading out under 18''!! :eek:. Granted abit more planted but very little straw will be in the rows tbh, wait and see til i spoze :rolleyes:

    Read something somewhere about beastiengs from cows fed on straw not as good as when they are fed on silage/grass. Could you buy silage as a meadow instead?

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    made some enquires minerals would be needed an straw diet if 50% straw 50% silage would you need minerals also trying to avoid renting land work load big enough.
