Seen as Im getting in my solar panel installed next week,it was recommended to me by a plumber that I swap my Triton T90xr shower over to a power shower and use it off the solar panel system.

This saves electricity and will be making the best usage of the solar system.

So whats a good make and type of power shower to go for,but that doesnt cost a fortune??

    Thanks.:)

A mira vigour is a newish decent power shower for the money

You might get a deal on it in a providers.

Another step up is the mira event xs/xs thermostatic.

Triton do one called ast2000/ast2000 thermostatic,it's not as good as a mira i think.

Surely your plumber is capable of recommending a shower ? ,whats the solar panels like that he's installing ?

Aquastream thermostatic power shower. However its still a white box on the wall but its the dogs...

after that any valve branded hudson reed and above is prity good by my estimates.

Always make sure what ever shower you buy it has a riser rail kit. If the women get there hair done they hate to climb under a fixed head and ruin it.

The system that is being installed is the dogs danglies.:D

It was the engineer from the solar panel company that actually said about removing the Triton T90xr and going for a power shower instead.

I have the tank fed rainfall shower in the ensuite,so he recommended ditching the Triton electric pump shower in the main bathroom and making the best use of the solar system and hot water. He said that the Triton would be eating up the juice (10kw) aswell and was of no benifit to me anymore.

I just wanted to see what the opinion here was with regards a power shower..:)

Aquastream seems to be a popular choice, judging by the posts.

Is the Aquastream a quiet shower to use (doesnt sound like a tractor, does it)??

Roughly, what should I expect to be paying for an Aquastream then?

Im presuming to go to a plumbers providers or a builders providers for the best deals and to avoid the likes of BnQ and places like that.

its not quiet no, but what do you want from a shower with a built in pump? cant have everything

my local wholesalers quoted me £383 all in for white and chrome 2 days ago but I got one from a local website selling it for £353 and local collection free or delivery for £10 to N.I. They also deliver to Ireland.

Most people are getting the satin colour though so its a bit more at about £385 from the website.

B&Q wouldn't sell aquastreams I dont think. This is a quality shower.

An aquastream theremo power shower in the 26 counties is 600 euro. You might want to take a trip over the border as its cheaper and covered by the same warrently which you can check with a local agent

So its still a "Ripp Off Republic" state of affairs then.

    Typical.:rolleyes::(

    Thanks for the advice.:)

The power shower is every bit as noisey as the electric shower.

If you dont want the noise in your bathroom and want to put on a fancy shower instead of the white box it will cost you more. You then need a twin impeller pump in your hotpress and obviously the cost of the shower.

Power showers are noisy. We have a basic triton AS2000XT thermostatic power shower and it does the job but its early days as to how long it will last. 20 years ago we had one installed and it only lasted a year! I hope they have come on since then for reliability?

    Is this the shower
http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/aqualisa-aquastream-191-2416 It looks very modern and nice:). We could of bought our triton shower in the UK for £150 nearly half the price of the builder/plumbing merchants. 300 euro but would of thought the warranty would of been void. We needed it fast too:)
