I was just wondering does anyone know what a notarised copy of a birth cert is? Do I have to go to a solicitors and is it quick to get?

A notary public authenticates documents (among other tasks), so it does sound like that's what is needed. From what I remember, I think it's only about €12 or so, and can be done on the spot.
