    Hi, I need to buy an audi a3 1.6 petrol engine for 2007...Anybody have one for sale or any ideas on where to look?

    It would be helpful if you included the engine code also. A lot of VAG cars share the same engine platform across Audi, VW, Skoda and Seat.

    why dont you try your local breakers the 1.6 vag donkey is used in a lot of motors. it should be handy to track one down. and as said already quote your engine code when searching, is it the 8 or 16 valve.

    Yep wasting your time without the 3 digit engine code. Do not buy an engine with a different code.

    Your code should be one of the following I think:

    BGU, BSE, BSF, BAG, BLP, BLF

    There's also the BAD engine code which is the 1.6 FSI. My wife has that in her A2 and I believe it's also used in the golfs.

    They're notorious for coil pack failures and engine management light issues so the BAD code is very apt.
