Recovery time - torn muscle?

I have a fairly small tear in one of the muscles under my gluteus. I have been to the physio who was ok, but she instead focussed on the issue which effectively caused the tear (poor inner rotation) The question is - how long should I expect for it to heal? It's been 6 weeks, and is showing very little signs of recovery.
