Wrong Word Used in Essay

    I used the incorrect word multiple times throughout my essay in an exam (word is similar but different, has no relation to what I was discussing) - do you get penalised multiple times or just the once? The rest of the essay was fine with the exception of that 1 word repeatedly being used instead of another similar word (note: it was not an english exam)
