i changed the dash lights in my ef1 civic earlier, put in red led ones, they worked fine and looked great (it was just the main dash lights, not the smaller oil/handbrake lights).. now the problem.. the indicators stopped working...
nothing at all..changed fuse, switched the smaller bulbs around to see was it that,nothing.. removed the led's and inserted the standard ones again (the light from them is poor)..and the indicators work again???

    any clues or help?

    its a 91 ef1 honda civic

    thanks

I had a very similar incident when I thought it would be cool to replace my rear indicator filament bulbs with LEDs. As they were not CANBUS they didn't work. In your case nothing happened, when I used my indicators they started flashing rapidly which is designed to tell you one of your indicators are blown. In that case I'd say the less power required by the LEDs registered as no power to the two rear bulbs causing the system to flash rapidly.Had to remove them in the end.

Did you replace the indicator bulbs on the dash with LEDs?

If You did maybe leave the original filament bulbs and replace all the others with the LEDs and see what happens.

no i didnt change the indicator bulbs at all, they just would not work when the led's for the main dash lights were installed.. puzzling

there are numerous posts on sites where people report all sorts of problems after retrofitting LEDs. Strange indeed
