The goverment needs to cut cash handouts 100 percent to unmarried mothers under 25 and give them vouchers and meals on wheels instead.

when i worked in the travel industry and was not able to afford a holiday myself, i must say it did my head in when these girls came in with 3 or 4 kids booking 3-wk long family holidays to disneyland or trips for themselves n whatever fella was on the go to las vegas etc etc. so yep, no problem with helping people out who really need it but holidays are a luxury and i'm sick of seeing MY taxes pay for this kind of stuff when i know they're not working, claiming lone parents/rent relief/housing whatever else while i pay my mortgage, bills etc on a salary that has been "frozen" for 3 yrs now and will most likely never be increased!
we would listen as they worked it out "i'll get the childrens allowance nxt wk, "he's" givin me money the wk after, then i've me fas money...blah blah blah" and some would be hairdressing for example on the side so getting cash in hand no taxes as well as everything else. maybe i should have broken my dads heart n got preggers at 16 after all, he wouldn't have had to lend me money to get my foot on the property ladder!!

Be prepared for the usual "you are not allowed talk about that" comments. The problem with single mothers (as opposed to jobseekers), are they are generally lifetime social welfare recipients - whereas once jobseekers secure employment they are out of the social welfare system.

These single mothers are usually from poor working class backgrounds and would not have a hope of gaining employment where they earn even close to their social welfare payments.

I'm trying to think of those one liners that colored gentleman was screaming at me in the bathroom of some club in my last holiday to Tenerife..

I'll just go with 'Don't be silly, wrap your willy'
