i have a 01 zafira and the fuel gauge appears to be faulty it was on almost empty (the light didnt come on) and then just as i got to the petrol station it went between quarter and half full is there any way of fixing it myself?

Similar question

Fuel gauge works OK from full to half full.
Then it drops to empty in a few miles.
And stays like that till I fill the tank more than half way.

I'm pressing the speedo reset button so I know when to fill up again.

On the odd occasion it will register fuel in the bottom half of the tank , after a bump perhaps ?

Don't know much about the fuel tank setup in zafiras but could it be a faulty fuel float in the tank. It might not be registering the correct level in the tank. Hope this helps.
