    What do you think?

I wonder would Obamas visit have gone as well had Cowen been introducing him on College green.

And I wonder would people have gone mental if it had been FF spending 30 million on herself?

I think it would have placed a downer on the welcoming speech by the Taoiseach had it been delivered by Cowen.

The visits would still be successful, though, I think.

Cowen is an inarticulate goon, having him introduce Obama would have been an embarassment

I think they would of been a bit smart by not letting Cowan on the stage. We didnt even know what reception Enda was gonna get and i wouldnt of even risked putting Enda up there in case he was booed but i was wrong and he got a good reception and a fine speech. If FF had of spent 30 million on the queen, it would not of been tolerated.

I don't think it would have made any difference. It all went well.

Brian Cowen with Obama in Moneygall, OFFALY?! Will you have a pint with me Bara? Sure its all being paid by the taxpayer. 10 hours later Cowen wakes up in a pile of puke while Obama is off doing real world stuff

Kenny looks far more statesman like than Cowen , that's for sure

I think if Cowen had introduced Obama, there would have been a lot of booing and I don't think the crowd would have listened to Cowen the way they did to Enda.

Cowen would have been cringe worthy to watch for the speech, the big blubbering bafoon stumbling over his words.

I was very impressed with Kenny on the other hand; looked sharp, composed, spoke powerfully and had an air of professionalism about him.

I find it a bit of an indication of how FF were looked up by other countries leaders when, as soon as they were out of office a lot of other countries leaders and royalty, suddenly announce they are coming or want to come.

Possibly didn't want to bee seen shaking the hands of what they might have judged to be a suspicious lot?

Can you just imagine biffo kissing Michelle Obama snorting and covering her in spit? yuck.

I think Enda did a great job today.

I was initially embarassed by Kenny's uber-enthused state.

But then I said fúck it, let's embrace the moment, and listened to the rest. He has guts, charisma and high goals if nothing else.

Yet another proud to be Irish moment there - maybe I won't emigrate after all.

There would have been more spittle, the possibility of the stage collapsing under the weight of our leader (assuming it was still that sh!t Cowen), finally, chances of a shot of our taoiseach scratching his hole while waiting to give his speech are much reduced with Kenny. Oh, if FF were still in power, Ahern would have been there trying to 'leverage' the visit for his presidential campaign - while FF looked on happily.

Nobody could have guessed two years ago that it would be a Finna Gael goverment welcoming the Queen of England and not a FF one .

    Both visits involved Guinness,
Cowan would probably have grabbed the pint Mrs Windsor left behind.

Possible but the details I believe were not finalised nor was the invitation finally accepted to come on a certain fixed date, not at least till FF were apparently gone!
